Firstly I took peoples advice and used PESTENE dust on chooks. Problem is chooks have weak respiratory systems and will eventually die from respiratory failure.
Spoke to vet who iagrees. So do not use DE, PESTENE, lime, fly sprays or any very fine dust. I use ivermectin now and very effective. Really annoyed at people sharing misinformation on these dusts. These dusts are an explanation for unexplained deaths, it won’t happen overnight but will happen.

Thank you! I do have some DE earth in my garage, but I decided not to use it during the winter as it was too much of a hastle, but now I won't use it... ever! I'd hate to think of one of my chickies suffocating.
