Do older chicks did food in their coop for midnight snacks?

As opposed to having food/water in the run only (not the coop). Right now they are in a rabbit hutch in a my mud room, so they have access to food and water all night. I'm getting ready to move them their big girl outdoor coop/run tomorrow. Thanks!

I have food in coop but not water as I have ducks also and they make a mess and get the coop wet if I leave water in.

If they are under lights at night then yes they should have food and water in the area where they are kept.

Ok, thanks! I don't plan on putting any artificial lighting in their hen house now, probably later when it gets colder here, but they will get lots of security lighting from my neighbors. Plus, they are still so young I'm guessing they will enjoying snacking. Thanks for the advice!

My six week old chicks are in a rabbit hutch in my covered run. They have a 15wat light in there which I turn off after an hour or so. They have pellets and water in there and seem to enjoy having a nibble when they first go to bed. It also acts an an incentive when they are naughty chicks and want to stay out to play after their bed time which happens most nights

Once outside, I keep feed and water well away from chick / juvenile roosting location. Many predators getting into coop will go for food first so it will by time for predator management efforts.
