Do Peafowl pick mates for life...

I don't think guineas mate for life- mine sure dont... My females far outnumber the males and all eggs are fertile. I hope peafowl dont because I only have one mature male.

I have 70+ Guineas. I assure you mine do not mate for life. Maybe 5 seconds but not for life. They find a new hen to flirt with and it is on! I also pen one male with 4 to 7 females and all eggs are fertile. My free ranging flock always has fertile eggs and not by the same colored boy.

I do plan on switching my pea hens around some through the years to try for other colors and patterns.
 
yeah, was given bantam Cochins years ago and that started my love for them and then many years later a Guinea showed up to live on the farm and that started that love and now I have been given a good many peafowl pairs so off we go again. Somehow I feel I am being very "blessed!"
