Do Pekin Males Lay?

I know how it works, I just wasn’t sure because this is our first time owning ducks. I know typically males of any species doesn’t lay/give birth. Just thought I should ask because we don’t know what’s going on.

Oh yes, I know I was just saying I agreed. Is there any way possible the egg was from your chickens or the other duck(s)? I wish you luck & your Pekin duck is beautiful!!

Thank you! And no, our chickens lay brown eggs and our Rouen girl lays smaller blue eggs. I’m kind of thinking we happened to get a hydrophobic intersex duck? I’m not too sure though. We’re out in the middle of nowhere and no one around us specializes in ducks so it’s hard to find somewhere to take him. Thank you for the help though!

How about separating him just to be 100% sure? And I’m not really sure how/why it happens.

It may be a female with a hormone disorder causing excess testosterone. Separate the duck in question and see if any more eggs happen.

The tail feather isn’t curled like usually seen on drakes. I think you have a duck hen.

@mady.sacco, could you get a better picture of your birds tail from the side, I'm thinking you have a hen also.

I don't really see any drake feather. I'm thinking it may be a female as well. Another photo of the tail from the side would be helpful.

ok you have a duck not a drake her tail feathers are likely curled due to stress
