I've never tasted either one, lol. Think I'll keep it that way!
Snails taste very much like their bivalve relatives: clams, oysters, mussels. And conch, which is really a big sea snail, is highly esteemed (it's in a dish at my job). It's weird that animals from the water are OK to eat, but their land-bound relatives are considered icky.

Lmao, you just had to point that out didn't ya. I get kinda grossed out collecting freshly laid eggs that are still warm/wet (eww!)... they smell exactly like where they just came from
but in all fairness a snail is never going to look up at you w/ soulful brown eyes that make your wife & kids burst into tears at the thought of dinner.
I have never talked to a snail, but I do talk to my guineas. The LAST thing I want to say to them is "Oh, by the way I will be eating you for dinner tomorrow."
