do people give you tude about deep litter?

I was telling my sister that I am thinking of doing deep litter method. I explained to her what it is, and she looked at me like it was so disgusting. Does anyone else get that attitude from people also?

I don't use the deep litter method. Not because I think it is gross or something but when I have explained the method to non chicken people they look at me like I have three heads. People just don't understand how it works and it's not worth trying to explain it to them.

I do it in the winter. Whenever I tell people, they get it. Decomposition=heat, etc. Maybe because I work with scientists...

I deep litter year round with some DE added as well.

Much cleaner IMO.

I am planning on using the DL method when my coop is finished. My husband thinks I am insane and that it is a bad idea. My coop, I tend it my way, so we will see.
