I have two GLW & two SLW. Until recently the two GLW enjoyed the # 1 & 2 slots in the picking order, the other 2 seem to be on pretty equal footing . The #2 bird went through a hard molt, spending time alone, in her absence the 2 SLW jointly took over the #2 slot. Now, fully recovered & back to laying she still has not recovered her position within the flock. She was mean but these 2 silvers seem determined to pay her back. I do believe, she pines for bygone days.

Yes, birds can lose their positions in the flock. The lower ranking birds are always looking for a chance to move up the pecking order ladder!!
