I purchased black sex link pullets at TSC back in the beginning of March, all has been well, they are very good natured! They went into the coop aling with my other young pullets a week ago, and have been sorting their pecking order, they seem to have gotten it pretty much down. Today I was sitting out with them and one of the "girls" began a throaty crowing...I didn't think much of the first time...but "she" did this several times! Do pullets crow? Or is it possible "she" is a "he"? I heard sex link was pretty much fool proof so I am wondering if this is normal!
Here are some pics of my gal..

How old is the bird? I've not had sex links so I don't know if that is "standard" comb development for a pullet of whatever age she is.

Were all the chicks the same color? Apparently the female chicks are solid black and cockerels will have a white spot on their heads.

Black sex link roos have barred feathers. I’ve heard of dominant hens crowing if there a no boys around. Or maybe some chromosomes got crossed and there’s a bit of both in there.

This is what they looked like the day I brought them home,The health slip they gave me says they were shipped to TSC on 2/26/18, TSC employee told me they were only about a week old when I purchased them...could this just be a breed mix up?
