Please please don't laugh. This may seem like a stupid question, but it is something that I want to know. This morning I let me 7 week old pullets out of their grow out pen for some "free range time". They never left the edge of the pen, and one of my big girls was pecking them and had them pinned in a corner so I shooed her off and put them back into their pen. Now, about 20 minutes later I hear 3 of them pleasantly chirping but one's voice sounds different. At what age do they go from chirping to clucking? Is that what she's doing is attempting to sound like one of the big girls?

Thank you Mountain Peeps. Wasn't sure if she was mad because they were getting pinned into a corner or what.

The "tribute" that was squawking at me with the new voice is the alpha of our young flock. It will be interesting to see what happens when we integrate them into the big girls
