Do Quail eat Flies?

My quail haven't started laying and I saw that what we originally though was 1 male and 4 females actually was 2 males.I now have 2 males and 2 females since one died the day after we bought them.

Once I figured it out that two seem to be males I put them into pairs. One of the pairs I put into the garage where I have a fly issue. I'm hoping the quail will help with the issue.

Do they eat flies?

if they could catch them. I once gave my quails used fly paper and they ate all the flies of it.

I just threw a apple core in their cage and the flies swarmed it... I have a LOT less flies today. They were BAD like swarms and they would bite. Now I walk out and see 5! =) I'm happy. I think it was the quail although its also a little chilly at the moment =)

I have seen my quail try to catch flies, but the flies are faster. They did enjoy the ants from the ant-infested dog dish that I put in the coop for them to clean off.

Your right. The flies are back so guess the quail aren't working LOL
