Do roosters make that "hen noise"???

my roo spent 2 HOURS in the brooder today after having chased out all the chicks. My OEGB decided she wanted to lay her first egg in the little brooder box, so Patch went in the big brooder box next to it, dug a nest, and spent the next two hours growling engouragement and singing the egg song. Eventually he got bored, and when she did lay that HUGE egg, he sung the egg song at the top of his lungs from the other end of the yard.

One of our roos does the egg call if he is upset. If a bunch of girls start the egg call in the coop, he chimes in and has to go check on them. He will also do it to call the hens over to the trees if he is worried. The other rooster (lower roo) has never done it though.

LOL I have caught my Light Brahma roo doing that, getting up in the nest box and digging a nest and squatting , I thought he was crazy , maybe he was just holding a class for the new girls? There were several girls standing around him in the nest box watching him? I do know that he likes to stand over his favorite girls and guard them while they are laying. LOL they're so fun to watch.
