Do Rouens Run Hot?

I just got my second Rouen duckling recently, and I’m noticing a trend (well, as much of a Trend that there can be between two ducklings). Both of my rouens seem to get hot and begin panting fairly easily, beginning at roughly 1 week of age. Both came with another duckling of a different breed, and both of the other babies didn’t pant or appear to be too warm.
So I’m wondering if easily overheating is a Rouen thing, or if I should be concerned at all? Once the heat lamp is turned off or the Rouen is moved to a slightly cooler spot she eventually cools back down.

Are your other ducklings smaller or more downy feathered?
Rouens should be provided a spot to escape heat lamp.
The other ducklings don’t appear to be more downy (Duclair duckling), and there’s ample space to escape from heat, but nothing seems to work aside from turning the lamp off entirely or moving the Rouen out.
The other little ones seem perfectly content just laying right under the heat lamp, happy as can be.

Are they smaller? If the other ducklings are smaller they are likely to need more heat, or if they are younger.
You may just need to seperate those Rouens. Overheating can be a serious issue and cause dehydration.

They’ve been transferred to a large kennel/cage type setup (now they have plenty of space to run around and play). We keep them inside the house for now, so I think I’ll take your suggestion and just start weaning them off the light and see how they do. Thank you so much!
