do Silkie roosters crow loud as other breeds?

I overheard someone saying that Silkie roosters don't crow as loud as other breeds like Australorps and Buffs, and are much more quiet. Is this true??

Silkies crow and sound like most bantams. My Silkie roo crow like my Cochin roo.

Someone forgot to tell my silkie rooster that. He crows competitively with my big boys and holds his own.

then again, someone forgot to tell him silkies don't roost, either. Maybe I've just got an odd silkie

I heard that, too. But in that case he was the only rooster in miles, so he had no need to get loud.
When you are looking for a not-that-loud-crower, look into the long crower breeds. They crow long but in a lower ton and somehow not that unnerving like esp. the bantam roosters.
