i just bought a pair of silkies at a local fair and they are adorable to man there said that they were 6- 8 months old..I woke up this morning with no crow from the rooster...Is he just too young? is comb doesnt look like its fully developed but my previous roosters started crowing before 8 months probably even before 6 months. He is definitely a rooster though. Whats going on? Additionally his partner did not lay an egg today, however the man didnt mention whether she had started laying yet or not.

Yes, they crow. I had a male that didn't start growing till 11 months.

Some pullets don't start laying till 9 or 10 months. You can check by looking at her vent, it will be stretched out and moist if she is laying.
