Do Silkies?

In the colder states many people do add some corn to the feed for their chickens and pigeons. I think if I do this year, I will only add about 1/8th at most to their feed.

I just throw some scratch feed or cracked corn on the ground twice a day, in the morning to get them warmed up, and in the evening to help them keep warm. And I have also heard not to give them scratch feed in the warmer months, because it makes them get hotter. Poulets' explanation sounds as good as any!

My chickens love wasting the corn. I feed them a mixed grained feed and they seem to pick everything eles out but the corn. I am gonna be cleaning corn out from their runs for weeks...LOL I'll have a pile of old sand dirt and corn..LOL

Anyone know why my silkies wont eat their corn? Not cracked or whole?
