04.10am...we have another chick . Very tired and had to help her with the final break free but not alot of assistance was needed in the end. Worried to leave them now but i’m off to bed as last. Hopefully chick number 2 will get stronger by the morning.

Is it safe for her to stay on her back and side? Didnt know whether to put her in a cup or something to keep her feet under her? Seems so much more tired than chick number one was. And yes...then bed!

if she flips on to her back she might have a harder time breathing but I'd be mainly concerned with her being stuck under the heat lamp and getting over heated and unable to move herself away. but it doesn't look too hot since chick1 is right there next to chick2.

Put her in a bowl with some tissue paper to keep her legs under her a bit more. Seems comfortable. Goodnight!

Yes chick 1 has been under it the whole time

Both chicks doing well!! Light one is chick number 2. After candling we saw the others had died eggostomy revealed grown chicks, lots of fluid and not absorbed their yolk so not quite ready to hatch. Have cleaned the incubator and off to get a thermometer later to check the temp as i think it was running way too low despite reading 38 degrees.

glad they both made it through the night. they both look pretty sleepy still. maybe try a little sugar water.

sounds like your humidity might have been higher than it needed to be too. Where I'm close to the coast the humidity here is high enough I dont add water at all for the first 18 days ( although I do watch the aircell growth, just incase I need to) I bet your daughter is excited.
