I have been floating around on this site and looking at other's pictures, I am begining to think that my chicks are younger than I was originally told.

Would anyone be able to better judge there age? I got them on 4/10 and was told that they were about 3 weeks. That would now make them about 4 or 5 weeks old. Do they look it to you?

Not if mine are five weeks old. I got 5 pullets, all supposed to be five weeks. The thing is, I don't know either. Three look like mini hens and the two smaller ones are much bigger than what yours are. They're BLR Wyandottes if it matters. These were taken the night I picked them up. For size reference, the background is my 65 pound 10 year old.

Two of the larger ones:

The biggest:

One of the smaller ones (Does still have a bit of chick down):

Maybe mine are just a lot older than they're supposed to be. I know they grow fast, but I thought "Geez Louise - they're HUGE!!!".

Hopefully someone will weigh in and tell us how old they all look!

Well the chick I saw posted from someone else was 8 weeks and looked a bit bigger then yours. Plus yours are mostly feathered. I think mine might be younger then I was told. No biggie, just will stay in longer. Which means more vacuuming for an extra few weeks. Let's see what they keep saying...

And Thanks...

I'm going with 2 to 3 weeks also.

preppy*hippie*chick - I'd say yours are 4 to 5 weeks old, closer to five weeks.

I think different breeds feather out differently. Also, the cooler temps you brood them in, the quicker they feather out in my experience. Your chicks look very healthy.
