My RIR has red stripes down the outside and inside of both legs. They are pink on the bottom and the scales are lifting and flaking off a little. Is this normal? He's been acting like a obnoxious rooster in all other reguards. I thought it might be scaley leg mites and I greased him up real good with vaseline. ( I think he liked it!!) What do you guys think?

The lifting does sound like leg mites. But roos especially will get rather red legs just from their testosterone.

My roosters legs look like that, didn't notice it so much when we were having frigid weather, but since it's warmed up into 40's during the day I can see it more, normal I'd say.

My rooster as the same red streaks. It's normal. I don't see any lifting of the scales in the picture. It won't hurt to use the vaseline if you think he as mites. It sounds like he likes a good foot message anyway.
