One of my hens this morning I noticed was hopping on one leg. Favoring the other leg having it up and close to her. When doing a further inspection I seen she has scaly feet and legs. Some of them have opened causing red wounds. I sprayed her legs with saline to rinse them, and brought her inside the house bc it's 25° outside and in the middle of winter. I added some liquid bandaid to the wounds. She's eating. Hasn't pooped yet, or had a egg come out. I read online that I should start with a warm water bath with Epsom salt and then put Vaseline on her feet once a day. I read that it will smother the mites if that's what she has. I can't take her to a vet. I'm the vet. Lol. So any help or advice other than what I am doing now would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! My little Blondie thanks you too!

It would be good to post any pictures of her and the legs. Vaseline, castor, or mineral oil are a few of the oils than can be applied to the legs to smother the leg mites a couple of times a week for a month or two. Nustock cream is another good one that will kill the mites with sulfur. Depending on how serious, you can soak the legs in warm soapy water if she is brought inside and kept warm. You can use an old toothbrush to gently wash the scales.

Thank you so much with your reply! I appreciate the insight! I very new to this website. So I'll have to figure out how to put a photo up of her feet. She looks healthy, she's eating tons lol has energy, drinks, poops. Hahaha! Other than her feet she's okay. She loved her bath, and was very pleased with it surprisingly!
