Well the cookoo marans and barred rocks do look very similar early on in age so maybe you should post a pic and someone can tell you which you have. I know my silver marans look VERY much like my barred rocks just lighter in coloration. There is a difference in their heads that I can see b/c I've had BRs for a while, but if I was a novice I wouldn't be able to tell them apart at all based on bodies.

You should get better/closer pics of the ones you are not sure of and post them. Best way to find out
