Do they get heavier?

It seems to me, although I've never weighed or tested it, that eggs with developed chicks are heavier than when you put them in the incubator.

Does anyone know if this is true or if maybe it's just that the egg feels more "solid" and not full of liquid anymore?

Just thought it would be an interesting question!

they lose weight from fluid evaporating away through the pores in the eggs...10-15% iirc??
