It's funny my young boys (1 year old) are always harrassing the girls but my older guys (3-5 years) quit mating the hens when the hens quit laying in the middle of winter.

Now that spring is here they are back at it, but ONLY with the hens who are laying. They don't touch the ones who are still on winter break.

Justino, you started a really funny thread here. My roo is young and he sneaks up on them and jumps them. And then they chase him around and peck at him!

My RIR roo and SLW roo only have one hen, SLW "Pebbles", and 3 guinea-girls. The RIR will jump one of the guineas who then squawks, bumps sideways, and looks at him with this "say WHAT?!" expression. It's so funny! I saw a pic of a guinea-chicken hybrid on here... Let's just say I make it a point to gather ALL the guinea eggs. That was one strange looking creature! have got 6 RIR, 6 BO, and 2 BR pullets growing up now and hopefully they'll be smoothly integrated into the flock and both roos will be happy, and it'll be one big happy family ...

I've got 7 hens and one male duck. He terrorizes those poor hens. Nobody has mentioned to him that he's barking up the wrong tree, but I guess since we're lacking female ducks he makes due with what is available.
