Hii, I currently have 9 turkey poults all 3 weeks old. They are too young to sex and I dont have the space to keep them all so I will only be keeping 3. Atm I am going to keep the 3 which I have bonded with the most as I can't tell their genders. I was just wondering if tom's get along. My neighbour has 2 tom's who seem to get along great however I was just wonder what would happen if there was a hen as well. I dont want to get 2 tom's and a hen and then have the 2 tom's fight over the hen. I was just wondering If having 2 tom's and a hen is alright because I wouldn't like to get rid of a tom if that was the case.

I currently have 2 toms and a hen (Hopefully, we've lost her but she was laying so praying she's sitting somewhere). They get along just fine. It depends on your toms though. My boys are pretty good with all our birds but yours might be vicious little things. The main thing would be keeping an eye out for overmating.

Hi, thank you. So far both of the turkeys im thinking of keeping seem to have along quite well. Fingers crossed 🤞

That's good. It might help that they're raised together. Mine are father and son but the son was raised around the old tom so they get along fine. Last year when we had 2 girls the toms hung out together and the hens hung out together. Now the hen just wanders between groups. I've seen her with all the different flocks.

Thats good, I hope your missing hen comes back. Thanks for the help! 🙂

Yeah same. Your welcome! Do you have any pictures of your poults?

One of my narragansent poults keep on strutting around this one black poult. I know that all poults can strut but it's really funnung watching it just strut around the room at such a young age. It follows the other poult around though and doesn't really leave it alone. I dont know if this is bad behaviour or not as the other turkey poult seems to be running from it. I've bonded with this poult the most though and it is really friendly to humans. It's the only one that will come to me and jump up to sit on my lap!

They're so cute! That one that's strutting looks both cute and funny.
Yeah it's a really sweet one. It reminds me of my other tom that passed away. We think he died of lameness because he would out of nowhere not be able to walk and he always hung his head. He got better but then it came back again and sadly he passed away. His face was really gorgeous, ill post a photo! 😊
