Do turkeys hold a grudge

My hen hatched 12 poults over the last week or so. I've been removing them a day or two after hatching. She hisses and threatens but tonight when I took two more that hatched she became down right irate and threw herslef at the wired enclosure. I feel awful fortaking them. She's been very protective all along. Now I'm afraid she'll never trust me and always go after me. Anyone ever have this experience?

That's what I'm afraid of. She was wary prior and I raised her from a week old. Also, while she was nesting her mate passed away. I found him one morning and buried him so that could be another strike against me.

Every hen reacts differently. I position myself so the hen is at my back in case she decides to flog me.

After years of stealing poults, last year was the easiest as the hens moved out of my way as I gathered their poults.

This is a first for me. We always raised BB and decided to become more independent by raising our own.
