Do Wheaten Marans feather slower than BCM?

I hatched out 2 wheaten marans, a black copper marans, and a BCM x Blue Isbar. I also purchased 2 sexed female Easter Eggers that are about 3 days older than the others.

They hatched out within 4 hours of each other.

The wheaten marans are feathering MUCH slower than the BCM and BCM X. The BCMs have sprouted tail feathers, starting to sprout shoulder feathers and the wing feathers are much longer. The Wheatens have no tail feathers, no shoulder feathers, and stumpy wing feathers.

Does this color variant normally feather out slower or is this a sign that the wheaten marans could both be a different sex than the others?

Also just out of pure curiousity what color chickens could come out of a wheaten x black copper?

Honestly, I have a really hard time telling the wheatens apart in these pictures, except the last two. They are more in comparison to the BCM and BCM -X

One of the wheatens in comparison to the BCM.

BCM X and other wheaten.

Two wheatens together.

Wheaten #1.

Both Wheatens:

Wheaten #1

Wheaten #2

I know this thread is crazy old but I was wondering if your wheaten marans ended up both being roosters or if the wheatens do just feather out much slower than BCM? I currently have 4 wheaten marans & 5 BCM & at 1 week old I can already tell the BCM males & females apart because the females have feathered out much faster but all 4 of the wheatens are being slow to feather out & I'm hoping all 4 of them aren't boys!

Both the wheatens pictured ended up being boys. The gray chick in the foreground was male as well. I am glad you revived this thread, I was just recently trying to figure out how old one of the easter eggers pictured in the background was. I still have her ☺️.
