I mean, I wasn't laughing at Lady Lisa's eggs not making it, but the "solo chick hatch" is a bit of a funny thing - I'm rooting for this underdog for sure!! Didn't start with the best conditions but making it through!

I too am rooting for the singular baby but worry about it being a singular baby. Chickens are such social animals I worry that it will be lonely. I also worry about it integrating into the flock when it's old enough. I fear the orphan will have a hard life for a while.

Thanks for explaining, I've had some bad hatches myself, so I know how tough it is when things don't go well.

In any case, I have no egg to hatch but I am following along all your efforts and feeling invested - here is to hope it all goes well with the eggs that made it so far! <3
