Do/would you re-use the pot?

yup. I use my stock pot that I dunk the chickens in for other things. Just wash it, then it's clean.

Okay Okay I got your points. I guess since this was our first time processing and I was queazy all day from the whole experience I just couldn't think straight. You guys are right, I do cook "dead" things in it usually.

I understand, after processing, we generally have vegetarian meals for a day LOL
