Do you feed your flock KITCHEn scraps if so what kind of foods are in the Mixture...
Absolutely!
I have been raising and selling chickens for 20 years. I own and operate a soup kitchen. The chickens get all scraps.
my grandma used to say that there were only 2 things a hog and a chicken would not eat was a lemon or lime.
When everyone else’s chickens quit laying in the winter, mine only slow down a bit.

I’ve tried to give scraps but most of the time they don’t want it lol, especially cooked veg. Weirdos! :sick
I had one breed that didn’t care for scraps but most eat anything I place in front of them, including deer carcass after butchering deer

I have 2 compost bins on the counter. One for the bin (coffe grounds, tea bags etc.)and one for the chickens. They get just about everything, leftovers, egg shells, banana peels, etc. The only thing they love more than watermelon is mashed potatoes.

Will they actually eat banana peels??

Yes I keep a large tupperware box under the sink and every few days I take it out to the run and dump it. Blueberries or almost any fruit, corn, sunflower seeds, a little spinach, coconut oil, egg shells, ground beef (freshly cooked scraps), carrots, chopped sweet potatoes, salmon skin....

Hi, I feed my chooks some scraps but most actually go into the worm farm and compost. However, when I find some veges at the green grocer that are a little past their best or those that are cheap (yesterday I got 5 ears of corn and 2 cauliflowers for $3!). I gradually put them in the yard over the period of a week or so and they are gone in the twinkling of an eye! I push the corn cobs into the coop fence so they will keep still while they are munched. My husband complains that the chooks eat like kings!
My five girls are healthy and happy. I don't feed them so many fresh veges that they don't eat their layer pellets so I generally get 4 - 5 delicious eggs daily. It's always such a pleasure to share info with other chook mothers :wee
And “Chicken Daddy’s “ :old

I do. I usually feed leftover meat scraps, vegetable ends, egg shells, rice and dinner leftovers, and stuff like that. I have heard that is isn't good, and can dilute protein in the diet, but I feed a high protein feed and a good amount of the scraps have protein as well. I think it is much better to give it to them then throw it away. How about you?
I agree, mine also get that stuff as well.
