Do You Believe in ALIENS?

I definitely believe in aliens.. like previous posters mentioned the observable universe is so vast.. its estimated there are 10,000 stars for every grain of sand on earth. And who knows there could be infinite number of universes as well..

Picture our Milkyway Galaxy... now imagine 2 trillion more of them out there, 2 trillion just in the observable universe.

I doubt aliens have been here in our past or present.. could they? Heck yeah but I doubt we'd ever know.. maybe they have the capability of watching us from space without our knowledge.. but since the universe is so vast I doubt theyve noticed us.

Ive mentioned the Big Crunch theory, its the opposite of the Big Bang, after a certain point everything goes back to the beginning then the pressure causes another big bang and the cycle never ends.. I like to refer to this as god's breath.. always breathing in and out for eternity. It always was and never ends. The universe is our god and our god is our universe.

I also like to imagine we are just a simulation in an advanced beings computer... the big bang was the start of the program, kindof like in Deism (god is the ultimate clock maker) where god started it all the just sits back and watches it unfold with no intervention.

So many ideas and thoughts but we'll never know the truth 😁 but yes there are lots of aliens far away both microscopic as well as advanced lifeforms far more advanced than ours. Many aliens have died out and many more havent even began to form, to other advanced lifeforms we are the "aliens" 👽 Cheers

Well, there are obviously UFOs out there. I doubt any contain aliens from other planets, though. Many of those I've encountered who seem to truly believe in aliens strike me as individuals who are alienated from the human race. They are wishing there are aliens, their own kind, and some even believe THEY are aliens, or part aliens. (Not that all of those who believe in aliens think like that, mind you.)

Moreover, I definitely don't believe humans have been abducted by aliens and experimented on. Carl Sagan pointed out in his last book, The Demon-Haunted World, that those who claim such things were usually sexually abused as children, and never dealt with the issue, never dealt with who abused them. Thus, they create the fantasy they were abducted and sexually experimented on by aliens. (Not that I am scientifically inclined like Carl Sagan, mind you. I personally have spiritual beliefs that he did not accept or adopt.)

The universe is unimaginably enormous. A trillion stars in one galaxy and as many galaxies as there are stars in the Milky Way. Many of those stars have planets. Even if only a small percentage were conductive to life, there HAS to be life elsewhere, just by the percentages. If even a smaller percentage of planets evolved intelligent life, just by sheer numbers there also has to be alien intelligent life somewhere.

So, why doesn't our galaxy look like "Star Wars?" That is the Fermi Paradox.

Because "somewhere" is unimaginably far away. "Far away" in terms of space. There is a reason it is called "space" - it is mostly nothing with an almost insurmountable distance between anything. If you scaled the Sun to the size of a basket ball, even Saturn would be miles away, let alone another star.

But "far away" could also be in terms of time. Earth and the Sun are very young as far as the time scale of the universe. Alien life could have evolved and died out long before our sun existed.

There is much more to the Fermi Paradox, involving questions about whether intelligent species tend to extinguish themselves, etc. Read up, it is interesting.

Have we been contacted? No, I don't believe so. And I agree with Stephen Hawkins that maybe we don't want to be advertising our presence. If a species is advanced enough to travel those huge distances, we probably don't want to meet them. Although "The War of the Worlds" has a terrific premise, that Earth, teeming with bacteria and viruses as it is, would be deadly for aliens that did not co-evolve with them.
