do you believe in god?

I surely do. I drive semi and I had a loaded liquid nitrogen tanker and started sliding on black ice going down a very steep graded hill, and my tanker started to flip over going around a curve as I had no traction, while I am screaming in my mind what do I do, something screamed back at me to head for the snow. So I made a hard right turn of my wheel and that was the only thing that kept the tanker from splitting open and freezing me to death, and what ever yelled back at me saved my life. So I truly believe there is a God and a force greater than ourselves. But I have always believed in God. And trust me when I say that that was not the first time that, that voice has saved my life. So my vote is "Yes!!!"

I am not an openly religeous person, I certainly don't preach to anyone or push my views on them, but I believe in god. I also believe that when we are born that we have a preplanned destiny. We are here for a purpose designated by the man/woman upstairs.

As far as how we look at his decisions, it does not seem fair, especially when you see children suffering. It is very easy to question god's motives and why he would do the things he does. BUT, If you believe in god, then you surely believe in the devil, who may or may not be responsible for alot of the hurt and suffering we see each day and blame god for.

I do believe in heaven or hell. I DO NOT believe god judges you for the color of your skin, your sexual preference....etc etc....BUT I can assure you that people like Charles Manson, Jefferey Dahmer and people of that nature, will not be passing thru those pearly gates.

I understand where you are coming from and I will certainly have a list a mile long to ask god about when I meet him someday.

I wanna know whats up with cockroaches. WHY???

LOL Debi, I'm with ya there, that's on my list! And fleas and ticks and......... LOL

But how can he stand by, I'm from serbia. A remnant of yugoslavia that was torn apart by war because of Fighting Muslim and Christian and Catholic religions. The schools over their are segregated. Same with the citys. Families were devastated. So many people died. And the economy there is horrible on the streets people live in poverty. some homes don't have water. How can god being so loving and fair. tear apart every last human being over there. No-one overthere is rich. no-one has these villa's or these 25 story houses everyone is middle class or poor as dirt.

To someone like Rocket, that is all gibberish. Ok that sounded bad, and I don't mean it to attack. I just mean that Rocket isnot familar with the Bible (I think) and if I was a new seeker of Christian reasoning, that may not make sense to me.

Well....These are actions caused by man, not god....
"Man" is responsible for his actions....If you look at the world today, these issues are wide spread and it's very saddening, but again, these are the actions of "man"....fueled by greed and the need for power. This is NOT the world that god had intended for us....

Again, Rocket, I encourage you to find these answers through a Bible study. Understanding God and His actions is mystery to us all. However, understand His word brings more clarity. I am not going to get into specifics here because I think you are searching for reasons more than anything, and preaching is not going to bring you answers tonight. You do not have to be a Christian to join a Bible study in most non-demoninational churches. Answers for you are out there.
