Do you Believe in Santa?

Quote:
Yes, Santa Has Nothing to do With the Birth Of Jesus, The Reason for Christmas, Therefore we ( Christians) Can't Believe In Santa

That is pretty much what the sub-human things that "raised" me believed, so I never had Santa growing up. Then married a non-Christian and ran far, far, FAR away from the sub-human teachings and we don't celebrate Christmas. So I really don't get Santa. Or the Easter Bunny for that matter. Charlotte when she was 5 or 6 was very mad at school because none of her class mates got that rabbits do not lay eggs, they are mammals and have live births. Chickens lay eggs. So she was thinking it should be the Easter Chicken if anything.

Well, I Have A little Pun, but it would Involve Me Giving you my Name... Easter chickens Rock*!

* That is NOT my Pun...

When our children were little they believed in Santa because it's a tradition both my husband and I were brought up with so we continued with it as so many others do. It's fun to see the excitement in their eyes. We also right from the start made sure that we didn't go over board with presents as so many do. My children have and still to this day only get 3 presents at Christmas. People always ask how do I get away with this and I tell them what we have told our children....Jesus only received 3 gifts the night he was born (From the Three Wise Men)......What make you anymore special to receive more? We have done this & told them this right from the get-go and they don't give it a second thought. They also know that the joy & spirit of Christmas is found in giving and not receiving. Every Christmas after dinner we always have dessert. I make an Angel Food Cake, frost it with this awesome sticky frosting (an old family recipe), put a candle on it, light it, and we all sing Happy Birthday to Jesus! Christmas is about the birth of Jesus and the Spirit of Christmas is about giving, sharing, and loving those around us.

you are So Right! " Christmas is about the birth of Jesus and the Spirit of Christmas is about giving, sharing, and loving those around us."

Is what I Believe!

Santa Claus Has NOTHING to do with it, Except St. Nicholas, Who GAVE And SHARED gifts. Is what i Believe.

You May think Different, but that's Just me.

How I dislike the commercial side of Christmas. Saddens me.
That isn't what Christmas is about.

I've never taught my daughter to believe in Santa as the person
who brings gifts. The stories and the movies are cute, and we watch
them, read them.

But it will always be Jesus as the reason for the season.

I believe that a little Santa Clause exists in all of us, each time that we
go out of our way to do something nice for someone else without expecting
to be paid back. It doesn't have to be Christmas to be nice to someone else.

Some of my best Christmas memories are from doing unexpected things for
other people.

So if Santa Claue helps us to be a better person towards each other...
I guess I believe.

Honestly, I think that him and the easter bunny were both created just to motivate young children into cherishing Xmas. I mean really, since when can deer fly?! And I don't really believe in magic. Its about Jesus, not presents, reindeer, or anything like that.

I guess I believe in magic too, Polish.

Not the tricks like pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

But real magic.

If you have the power to make someone else smile, or
maybe even influence their life...

Isn't that real magic?

Awww... That's touching, Spook!

Santa has nothing to do with Jesus' birth, whatsoever. I don't believe in the naughty or nice list, flying reindeer, a fat man going down a little chimney, having magic in his nose, elves. I don't believe that elves make the toys, because they don't make barbies or ds or wiis etc.

But yeah, if you can make someone laugh or smile, that's magic, right?

I always thought that the notion/idea of the so called Santa was derived from the legendary tales & actions of St. Nicholas. Maybe I'm wrong. I also believe that society has lost the true meaning of Christmas. It's society that has ruined the whole concept with it's greedy marketers & mass media promotions starting in July, non stop. Oh the radio stations start playing Christmas music in November and the Pilgrims haven't even landed and ate their feast! And guess what....the day after Christmas they are back to playing their regular selections. So many fall into the trap, with each year they buy more and more and more and for what? No wonder Christmas time is has the highest rate of depression and suicides. I have always stressed to my children that Jesus is the reason for the season (for if it wasn't for him there would be no season.).
