Thank you fishnet1971 -- I'm not sure why but the heat really seems to bother Rose. She isn't the largest girl or the most active but when it starts to get humid out she will breathe with her mouth open and not move around much. She may be faking it so she can come inside and watch tv...

I know this is an old thread... are you guys concerned with salmonella or any other things from letting your chickens inside? I had to bring one of my girls inside because she had a small cyst removed at the vets from her face. The vet said because of the anesthetic she wouldn't be able to thermo-regulate her body temp in the cold. I kept her in my spare room away from my other animals (cats) mainly because I think my indoor cats would scare her.
