Do you calibrate your thermometer?!?!?!??

I never thought to calibrate my thermometer!

How reliable are thermometers 1. straight from the store and 2. that have been sitting around for a while?

I check mine every time I set a new batch of eggs just so i know if they are off & by how much. Easy to check. Get a thermometer for people, put either warm or ice water in a glass, check the temp with the people thermometer, and the one for the bator and see if readings are the same, or how much off. The ones for people are very accurate.
