Chickens are a couple months old now. One got pooped on. Do you do anything to clean it or just let it dry, and it will eventually flake off?

I’d just get it with a warm, wet paper towel if you want to, do a money-rubbing type motion with your index and thumb, gently, and slowly work it out, having a helper hold them, you might have to use a bit of your nail, which is gross, yes, but you can always wash your hands! Don’t pull, and have some styptic gel ready, if you don’t have any, get some, it’s a lifesaver; because you might accidentally break a feather, or a pin feather, remember that any pin feathers are very sensitive and they’ll likely struggle more when you touch those, but they’ll bleed like crazy if you do break one, just pluck it out completely and it’ll stop bleeding. You could also trim the feathers in that area, I’d get some ball-pointed scissors for that, so you don’t accidentally poke them, those are good to have around, too. Is it too obvious I have to do this too often with my chronically poopy-butted pet quail? :lau
