Do you ever become obsessed over a song?

I did that at that age, too. I spent years listening to second-hand records (Led Zeppelin, Boston, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, etc.) on a second-hand record player. (Everyone was starting to dabble with CD's, so cassettes were on the verge of dying, and records were dead....) All of that music was superior to what was being played on the radio. "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" or "Stairway to Heaven"? "More than A Feeling" or "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go"? Easy choice for me.

I forgot to mention Def Leppard, and this music is still superior to most of what's played on the radio. Nothing againsts todays artists ofcourse.

I get to go to Sydney in febuary to see AC/DC

MTV was a funny thing back then. All the bands that I loved were not on MTV. Once they had a song make it to MTV, I was done with them. They sounded weak. This holds true for:
Def Leppard
Motley Crue
Bon Jovi
Jefferson Starship (Airplane) (If I hear "WE Built This City" one more time, I'll

)
There's a bunch more but I'm too tired to think.

Anyways, MTV signaled the end for many bands. But it made them super rich before they vaporized.
