Do You Ever Freak Yourself Out?

I sometimes got paranoid at night. I was home alone most the time younger so..yea

I was fine, but I notice now, since I went to see Paranormal Activity with Jerrit..well we saw it like 2 days before he left to go back home, and then I was home alone for the first couple nights 'cuz my mom went to go to her 'guy friends' house.....so ... I just tried to get in bed quickly and cover up and hope nothing grabbed my leg and dragged me out!! Im still paranoid and have to hide myself in my covers

and then I peek out and make sure nothing is there XD

My son in the room next to mine has a guinea pig. In the morning when I walk out the bedroom door it scuttles loudly to the other side of its cage.

freaks me out every time

I dont like the dark either, well, not when I am alone anyhow.

My parents find it to no end of funny....but at least they were sympathetic enough to put a nightlight in my room at their house...or I would keep the overhead one on until it was light out.
At home I leave a small lamp on in the bedroom.
I havent seen Paranormal Activity but I read enough weird sightings to give me fuel for my freak outs, lol.

Yeah, chickaddict, my daughters CAT likes to jump out of nowhere or grab at my ankles from under the living room couch....

The same son also has a teddy bear hampster. A fun little guy but he becomes an escape artist at night. More than once he's run across my feet as I enter my room in the dark.

I scream every time before I remember what it is.
What really freaks me out is this has happened at least 4 times and not once has my husband or 3 sons bothered to holler out "hey, are you okay?"

I have to wonder if I screamed twice instead of once, would anyone see if I was okay or simply wonder how the laundry would get done without me!!!!!!?

OOooooo I'll have to check that out. I have a mouse in my attic above my bedroom. Nothing like watching a spooky movie than go to bed and wake up at 3:33 and hear scratching noises above your head.........then seeing your cats watching the walls and ceiling.

Lunachick, you just google humanoid sightings and its the first one that comes up. It was too interesting for me NOT to read and I am still not done.

(Paranoia, it'll destroy ya,lol)
My daughter and I made a pact now not to take the dogs out until 6 am.(Like I mentioned, lots of activity after that time, welding shop, cafe etc.) She said she even had a dream that she was taking her dogs outside early and heard things, lol.
She came into my room early and I said NO WAY, I am waiting!!! Then she told me about her dream. Eek.

Every morning when I get up and look in the mirror. I always think "where in the heck did this gray haired old lady come from?" And the answer is always the same, 1952 and the school of hard knocks.

If someone broke into our house at night our vicious guard dogs would offer to hold the flashlight for the burglars. Bunch a good for nuthin' fur covered
loafers!

Now the chicken is another story completely!! I've seen Henrietta fluff herself up and stand her ground against dogs and cats! If she had a mouthful of razor teeth
and a spiked collar around her neck she'd make for one great attack chicken and would really be a force to be reckoned with!!

But in all seriousness to the OP, we live in a big, old creaky 100+yr old house and between it and my imagination I manage to get freaked out with some
frequency. DH thinks I shouldn't be allowed to have too much time up in my own head without adult supervision.
