I know it's all still very new to me, so of course every time I go to the coop and find an egg I'm all giddy. I smile like a fool! (as of yesterday, Miss Ginger has given us 5 eggs since last Sunday.)

My question for you "old timers" is does it ever get old? Are you still smiling when you've found your 400th egg or 4000th?

Yep. Every day.

I am surely not an ole timer collecting eggs. We have probably got around 60 eggs and we are still smiling and giddy everytime we get an egg. Especially when we go outside and they are all prancing around acting so proud of their accomplishments.

God I love my chickens!

Another not really an old timer but have had a bunch of eggs. I can't imagine a time where I won't be this excited over them. Every single egg seems so precious and special to me. And each egg is so beautiful. I love, love, love my chickies so much!!!

I love to find eggs! The little kids REALLY LOVE to go collect eggs, it is an even bigger thrill for them, and what a great way to practice taking turns!

I always say "Thank You" to my little hens everyday when i gather the eggs. Yes, I smile too.

Yesterday i told them "You have to work extra herd until Christmas so I have eggs to give for gifts" then I wnet in the coop and they had given me 10 eggs from 10 hens! Extra romaine for the ladies yesterday! lol

I'm all about the incubating and hatching as well, but I do still smile and get excited when I find eggs. I love to call my friend and sister (chicken owners as well) and talk about how many eggs we got, from which breeds, colors of the eggs, etc.. I love everything about chickens! I even love my Roosters crowing at 2am!
