If you have a chick or chicken that you need to know the gender of, post here! Try to include full body pics and a special pic of the comb. The more angles the better! Young chicks are not easily identified, so you may want to wait until they are older. If you have more than 1, please number. If there is a major size difference in chicks, go ahead and post a pic of it next to your other chicks. I hope this will help anyone who feels the urge to know. There are lots of individual threads on certain chicks, but I wanted to make 1 place for it. Thank you!

This is one of our 12 week olds. I assume she/he is an easter egger and I thought it was a she but now she is getting green and blue ish feathers and the saddle feathers are kind of throwing me off. I hope shes a pullet but I'm just confused now. Plus the comb is black which isn't helping.

This is great! Our family has 31 chicks right now and as a newbie I’m having a hard time figuring things out. I’ll be posting often

here’s the one that is starting to look more like a cockerel each day. It’s pretty calm, confident, 5-6 weeks old. We think it’s a black Cochin.

Looks like a pullet to me, the shiny feathers dont mean anything.

Looks like a cockerel, but don't freak out and give it time. i had a BCM that had me puzzled at 5 weeks, but ended up being a pullet (looked just like yours). Good luck!

I have one more that has me very confused right now. We thought she was a buff Orpington but she has transformed completely and doesn’t have a single comb.
She is 5-6 weeks old.
