Do you get the same number of chicks every time? Always two? Always 4 of each kind?

For some reason I keep getting 3 of every kind. LOL I have no clue why three and not two, or five.

Maybe its because I'm afraid one will be a Roo and I'll have to give it away. I wouldn't want just one of that breed, so I have a spare.

6? Wow. I'll tell my husband not to complain when I just come home with three new ones from now on,lol.

I believe in the rule of 3 also.

My first chickens ever was a group of three and they are very social because we could give them a lot of attention. They all turned out to be roos but that is not the point.

One was killed by a hawk as an adult so I still have two.

I have 12 chicks in the brooder now. Two of them are attention hogs and the other ten only want us around at feeding time. Raising them has really not been very fun.

Hey taz, what breeds are they?

My first roos were BO, austrolorp, and BCM x OEGB. The last one is my avatar.
The new ones are....2 white orps, EE's, 1 marans x ?, 1 BO, austrolorps, and a silkie mix (after I said NO silkies
