Welcome!

There's a Texas Country & Western song about this guy that wants his ashes put into shotgun shells & being shot all over Texas. Think I'm gonna go that route. I don't wanna take up much needed land that could be used for others when I'm gone. Forgot, to answer the question I do have Life Insurance. Been paying thirty-six dollars a month for 26 years. My son will get 40 grand when I'm gone. Funeral cost shouldn't cost more than me being cremated & stuffing the ashes in a box's of twelve gauge shotgun shells.

o.k matema?
sorry about name. I was 40 yrs. old and diagnosed with cancer. I had to get surgery, radiatoin, chemo. etc. We had health ins. thank God, but everytime I went for treatment it was a $50.00 co-pay.
We had to go bankrupt due to this. I found out later that if I had life ins. you can use it when you have a serious illness, this might have spared us the bankrupcy?
I really wish that we had it.
Anyway, if you can get it.Do it. I can't get it now that i am a survivor..............whole other story................

Oh thank you for mentioning this!! Yes, ask about "accelerated death benefits" when looking for a policy.

Thanks for all the input.I talked to dh and we did some online quotes, but he refuses to pay the high cost. I guess we will be on our own if he dies.

My ins is for 100k and I pay $38 a month thru State Farm.

I'm 43 now and have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I tried to double it after my son was born and the rates shot to $120.00! I think maybe someone made a huge mistake when they gave me the first policy, lol!

Anyway, plain old term life insurance is usually pretty cheap, and well worth having imo.

Dave Ramsey recommends term life from Zander insurance. They sell lots of different companies insurance. They have a place where you can get a quote on their site.7

And he suggests 5x your yearly income.

I am going to keep shopping and hopefully get dh to agree to something. Maybe he is annoyed with more than just the cost. Talking about it kind of smacks him in the face like,"Hey you will probably die soon." We kid about it,but maybe the refusal is also a refusal to face his death, and the life style choices he has made that seriously decrease him time alive.
