I love my chickens and I do hug them, but recently I've been extremely busy with our naughty puppy and I haven't had many chances to be with them.....

Mine have to disagree.I don't hug them because they're not cuddly and I know they wouldn't like it.
Why would they have to disagree? My chickens don't want to be hugged... That doesn't mean your chickens don't.Mine have to disagree.
They think everychicken is like themWhy would they have to disagree? My chickens don't want to be hugged... That doesn't mean your chickens don't.![]()
Thank you for posting this. When I looked into it I could consistently see sources, the CDC included, saying they carried it in their gut. One “source” just told me all fowl had it all the time but I couldn’t find another source to back that up.Misconception. Chickens do not carry salmonella. They get it by contaminated water sources, & Mice.
Egg contamination is 1 in 1 million eggs. This is based on outbreaks from the egg packing, & egg farm facilities.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that hugs my chickens. I do have some that like it more than others though. I have a light Brahma hen that sits on my lap in the winter. During the summer she won’t come near me. But the wintertime she’s my best friend. This is her last year. View attachment 2900887
