My chickens are rat killers. Found 3 so far dead to holes in the head

Big rats? What breed of chickens do you have?

Glad they took the rats out for you. lol I hope all of mine turn out to be so predator savy. I wish mine would all turn on my dog and attack him ...but leave his eyeballs entact. lol

I have some young Buckeyes that I hope live up to their reputation. So far the only predator problem I have had is dogs - mine included! I also had a rat or something eat the head off of a week old chick. I put out some rat pioson but nothing has touched it. I believe mice and rats get by with their activity because they do most of their moving at night when the birds are asleep or can't see them.

Mine are 3 months and up however I believe it is my bcm roo killing the rats as he is super protective of the girls
