The other two are SLW, your birds are likely hatchery or backyard quality that is why the barring is not crisp.

Agreed Black and white bird in back and tushie bird are Silver Laced Wyandotte and the 2 in the middle are barred rock. Not sure on the chicks but white and black is a beauty and I would guess towards SLW again is the comb a rose comb?

Oohhh. Ok that makes loads more sense. I had a good close look at them tonight and you are right about SLW.

My friend I got these from was certain she'd bought easter eggers at the feed store because she wanted the blue & green eggs. When they started laying brown I knew something was fishy. Sounds like maybe the feed store got some breeds mixed up.

All the hens are hatchery birds. Until now I never knew hatcheries had very much deviation from breed standard. I looked at a whole bunch of pictures for SLW, BPR and CM, and the greyish-brown hens look most similar to the cuckoo maran including pale pinkish feet. Egg color is lighter and matches the BPR. So I guess they could be either one.

Cuckoo Marans look like your chickens. They are barred, but it is less crisp than a barred rock. Their legs and feet should be a pale pinkish white, unlike a barred rock whose is more yellow with darker coloring up the front.
