Nasty old house sparrow. I have a sparrow trap that I used when they invaded my barn. Now that they are gone, my bluebirds and barn swallows are back. Yeah!

The grey on the head gives it away as a male house sparrow.I have a hard time with the females as they look like some native sparrows. I got a repeating house sparrow trap(from TX) after the HOSP killed a nest of blue bird babies even though they had already taken over the OTHER blue bird house.The trap works well and even catches chipmunks!

Yep, it's a male house sparrow.

Aside from taking other birds' houses they also spread diseases. Not the kind of thing you want around--another of those imports from Britain.

I stand/sit corrected it may be a sparrow of some kind it's hard to tell how big it is. what color is it's stomac? sparrows are light grey or whiteish.
