Do you know why a brown layer will occasionally throw a white egg?

Now I know this happens occasionally with my girls, and I am not sure if it is normal or if it is a sign of something... but every once in a blue moon I collect my eggs and get a chalky pale looking egg that looks white washed.

Out of my 3 remaining girls I have one RIR, one EE, and one BO.

Coating the egg shell cuticle with brown pigment is one of the last things done to the egg before laying. Maybe her oviduct had another egg ready, and the shell gland skipped the paint job on the first egg, in order to avoid a traffic jam. ??

very interesting, well the 3 girls haven't laid since Tuesday Jan 25th... so maybe that means she will lay me another in the A.M. and they are on their way to recovery.

The girls were a little stressed due to a bad storm and a bad dog
