Do you leave messages?

I love the callers that ask for my divorced name. Really, my last name has been changed for ten years. Idiots.

Depends on what i'm calling for...
If its business related,(MY job), yes i always leave a message.
If its someone like my mother,.. no i just try to call back later..usually.
If i try to call a business..like a farm, to ask about a product,(meat, veggies,..they have for sale) then NO, i dont leave a message...
If you are a business and put your number/product out there for people to call about, i would expect them to answer the phone. IF they didnt answer the phone after i called a few times,... i wouldnt bother with them again. They would seem kinda shady to me and i would lose interest and take my business elsewhere.... IMO
I would think, "WHY would they put their number out for people to call and NOT answer their phone?".... Must be hiding from the bill collectors or disgruntled consumers..lol

Well I don't know if you would consider some one selling on craigs list a business. But on the side i sell on there even if I'm home I will probably be outside building stuff. I do check for messages every couple hours. But there is no way I can have someone sitting by the phone all day.
Alot of small businesses don't have the resources to always have someone on the phone. I always leave a message with the best time to call me back.

@hemet.. no i dont consider CL the same as an actual " business"...

But even with CL, i would call the person once and leave a message... if they didnt call me back, then i would stop buggin' them

Well I think if I'm making something and selling to make a profit that's a business.
But if they don't call you back it's a poorly run business.
I wish more people would leave a time to call back I hate to call people after 7 pm.

Yeah, i hear what you mean.. I understand. I guess it is considered a business..

I'll leave a message when I call business or family & friends. It seems some business never answer the phones. If some one calls me on the family or business phone, I'll be notified first by a number, then the message. The only people I'll call back are our kids if they don't leave a message. If someone else calls and they don't leave a message, I won't call them back. If you leave a message, I'll call you back with a response.

I only leave a message if I call you 3 times and you don't answer. But the only people that do that is my mom. She never answers her phone when someone calls. I only repeatedly call when it is important.

If it is a business call, I leave a message. If it is a personal call, I don't. That is not to say some people don't have strange messages on their phones from me...I have a two year old who has been known to make phone calls while Mommy sings, or reads...

I second that remark. If it is business, I leave a message. If it is personal, I will say "Call me back please"... I tell others that,I won't call back if you don't leave me a message to call you back. sometimes, the message takes care of the phone call. It is merely another form of communication is all. I am not a "phone person" anyway. I have a cell, that is my DH's, on his plan, an extra phone. He is the only one that calls me, and his mom does once in a while. Her, I tell, to let me know if I am supposed to call her back. She will leave a message, just rambling.
However, I am currently in process of opening up my own business. Well have business cards with my number. I expect things to be different. But, they will be calling for business, not social reasons.
