I do have video calling too...but I've never used it, and don't plan on it. Visual Voice Mail just means that instead of calling a number and entering my password each time, I click voice mail, and it shows me each number that called, and I can choose to play or delete.

Answering machine? I usually hang up immediately... unless it's real important for them to get back to me quickly... even then, lots of folks don't even listen to their machines.

I just let it ring. I never answer my home phone. Only the people I know have my cell number.
Life is much nicer not having to talk to all the solicitors.
My answering machine died along time ago. I sure don't want to see who is calling me.................That's just creepy.

I guess we aren't a real business then. If I know a place is family-run, I will give them a break. Especially for a place like ours that is a farm. If someone is sitting next to the phone all day, they can't be out running a farm. I'm very glad that most of our customers seem to be very understanding of the fact that we are a small family farm and therefore we don't have secretaries or office staff.

Oh, i'm sure you ARE a "real" business!!..
Small farms are "real" businesses too! Actually the best ones,..IMO
I'd look into this thing where if your house phone rings, and you miss it, the calls will automatically go to your cell phone. So no missed business calls! And NO missed sales!

My father has it, and i believe that my plan has it also if i want it...(you dont have to be a business owner to have it)
Its cheap from my understanding... and a GREAT idea for small business owners that dont have someone sitting by the phone..
Anyways just an idea so you dont miss calls and make more sales! Good luck in your business!

ETA: Just curious, did you ever call the number back to see what they wanted??

I just used my cell phone for the business. So I always had it with me. Never missed a call, and if I did, you got called right back.

Same here... if i dont know the number i dont answer... ever. I hate getting suprise calls...

But a business is different..IMO
