Do you leave the bloom on until being used?

It doesn't matter, but if you wash it off prior to being used you must refrigerate the egg because now it is more susceptible to bacteria.

I leave it on and wash just before I use the egg. I just brush off anything solid before I store the eggs (not using water or wetting the egg).
If I give away eggs to friends I label it that it is either washed or not washed and explain to them. (Occasionally I will wash a batch that i give to friends)
