Any fantasy type stuff like magic or superheroes or whatever? Like Lord of The Rings/The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, etc.??? Just curious. And if you do, which one do you like better or are they even comparable? What do you like about them? Or not? Let’s discuss.

Love them for the escapism. We have enough of real life right now!
Love the Marvel universe and how the stories/plots are all intertwined and layered.
Never been a big fan of DC, no particular reason. Anything with fantasy characters is also awesome, HP, LOTR etc.

Anne MacCaffrey is awesome. So is Mercedes Lackey.

I have not heard of Mercedes Lackey. Does she write similar stuff to MacCaffrey? I may have to check it out.

I'm not sure time is even a thing... could you change the future? Theoretically yes, but in practice maybe not. At any rate that's way above my competence level. I wouldn't dare.

Books are always better than movies. But fun to associate faces in movies if you read the book after the movie. I’m reading ‘The Expanse’ now.

I can’t remember them now but I feel like there were at least a couple movies that I saw that were as good or better and stuck to the story pretty well but they are few and far between lol

Agreed! They are great for that! That’s also why I like comedy stuff too, the laughs ahah and I agree about Marvel! I love how complex everything is and it’s been fun trying to watch as much as possible I also love the comedy in them too haha

Yeah, true, it might just be made up for the screen? But who knows. It would be kind of cool if there were like alternate realities or universes or whatever I highly doubt there are though haha that part was probably made up. But yeah, I don’t really understand any of it! It confuses me might be a bit of a weird discussion hahah sorry! I was just wondering about it and tripping me out thinking about it

Yes, my daughter and I are die hard fans! We are the type that would stay through the 20 minutes of credits to get the little scenes they had at the end of the credits, back in the day when there were movie theaters... My husband, on the other hand, could not wrap his head around the complexities, so he gave up on them!

What do you all think of this list? I think some of it is just sad like the LOTR part but not sure on the rest? Seems people don’t appreciate good writing.

Me too!!! I’m always like how do people still not know about the Marvel sneaker previews/end scenes after 10+ years!?

And yeah they can get super complicated and confusing especially if you haven’t watched everything! Haha I’ve actually looked up lists before to see what to watch when so I can watch in the order it happens instead of by release lol
