Do you name your birds?

i have blackie and buffy, named for their color, gonzo(the weirdo), bunny and peeps, the easter eggers, chicken boo and chip the accidental welsummer roo. gonzo hatched seven eggs at the end of april, so far i've only named turkeybird(named for his size and coloring) and camilla cause the kids said i couldnt have a gonzo without a camilla lol. waiting to see whether the others are pullets or cockerels before i name them.

I name all of my birds. When I have 2 or more that look the same I leg band them with different colors until I am around them enough to pick up on subtle differences, behaviors or coloring as they grow up. Once I can tell who is who I remove the leg band. Good luck

I bought spiral leg bands that they had at feed stores. You can also get it online but tractor supply has it for sure.

Smaller zip ties also work as leg bands. We have 3 identical Easter Eggers, one is named truffle, she has a green leg band, one is jasmine, she has a white leg band, and the last one is Ariel with no leg band.

Just make sure they are not too tight.
